MES Production Tracking
Order, batch and downtime tracking tied to machine counters and operator terminals.
Unified supervisory layer over three production lines with a single alarm and trend environment.
Three production lines had been commissioned over a decade by different suppliers, each with its own HMI, alarm philosophy and data retention. Supervisors compared shifts by exporting spreadsheets from three systems, and no historical trend crossed line boundaries.
A supervisory layer was introduced above the existing controllers rather than replacing them. An OPC UA aggregation server normalizes tags from all three lines into one namespace, a historian stores them at line rate, and a single alarm environment applies one priority scheme across the plant. Existing HMIs remain operational as local fallback.
